Traveling through the 1950's South with Jeremiah Musgrove's Chinese Circus is Henry Walker, formerly a world-class illusionist. Although Henry's abilities have declined precipitously, his black skin and green eyes make him a novelty to crowds. But when Henry finds trouble with a group of whit teens, his very life is at stake - and it falls to his menagerie of circus friends to recount his history.
