Andries Van Dam
Andries 'Andy' van Dam (born December 8, 1938) is a Dutch-American professor of computer science and former vice-president for research at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island[1]. He is a pioneer in computer graphics and has co-founded the Computer Science Department at Brown University, serving as its first Chairman from 1979 to 1985[3][4]. His research spans computer graphics, hypermedia systems, post-WIMP user interfaces, pen-centric computing, and educational software, including over four decades of work on electronic books with interactive illustrations[4].
