Colonel David H. Hackworth was a highly decorated U.S. Army officer who served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War, later becoming a prominent military author and journalist. His bestselling autobiography "About Face" is considered a classic critique of military leadership. After retiring in 1971, he wrote extensively on military affairs and defense policy.
