Daniel Gay

Daniel Gay (1933–2017) was a Haitian-born sociologist and professor at Université Laval, where he taught from 1971 until his retirement in 1996. He was a pioneer in Quebec studies of immigration and ethnicity, especially Black immigration, and wrote several sociological works, including *Les Noirs du Québec, 1629-1900* (2004).
