Ernst Mayr
Ernst Walter Mayr was a German-American evolutionary biologist and ornithologist, often called the 'Darwin of the 20th century,' who was a leading architect of the modern evolutionary synthesis and developed the widely accepted biological concept of species. He contributed profoundly to ornithology, evolutionary theory, and the philosophy and history of biology throughout his 100-year life.
