James Owen Dorsey

James Owen Dorsey was an American ethnologist, linguist, and writer who conducted extensive work on Native American languages and cultures, particularly among Siouan-speaking tribes. He served as an assistant on the Bureau of American Ethnology and contributed significantly to the documentation of indigenous languages and folklore.
