James Ryman

James Ryman was a 15th-century English Franciscan friar and poet, active in Canterbury around 1470-1490. He is best known for writing a series of ballads on the life of Christ and other religious works, often collected as 'The Poems of James Ryman'. His poetry represents a later medieval tradition of religious verse in England.
