Martha E. Gonzalez
Martha E. Gonzalez is a Chicana artivista, musician, feminist music theorist, and Fulbright scholar born and raised in East Los Angeles. She is a singer and percussionist for the Grammy-winning band Quetzal and serves as an Associate Professor of Chicana/o Latina/o Studies at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Gonzalez holds a PhD in Feminism from the University of Washington, Seattle, and was awarded the MacArthur Fellowship in 2022 for her work advancing social justice through collaborative artistic expression.
