Richard Abel

Richard L. Abel is the Michael J. Connell Distinguished Professor of Law Emeritus at UCLA, specializing in law and society, the legal profession, and social change. He is a recipient of the Law and Society Association's Harry Kalven Jr. Prize and has served as president of the Law and Society Association. He has authored numerous books on law, democracy, and social issues, including works on apartheid resistance and autocracy.
