Walpole

Horace Walpole was an English writer, art historian, and Whig politician, best known for 'The Castle of Otranto' (1764), often regarded as the first Gothic novel. He also built Strawberry Hill, a pioneering example of Gothic Revival architecture, and wrote one of the most famous memoirs, 'Memoirs of the Reign of King George III.'
