William Pene Du Bois

William Pene Du Bois was an American author and illustrator best known for his imaginative children's books, including 'The Twenty-One Balloons,' which won the Newbery Medal in 1948. He often blended whimsy with science and adventure, creating richly detailed worlds in works like 'The Alligator Case' and 'The Horse in the Attic.'
